LADY GAGA's extravagant tour sets are proving costly - official figures show the POKER FACE hitmaker has gone $3.2 million (£2 million) over budget on her current U.S. trek.
The eccentric singer's Monster Ball Tour has proved popular with audiences and Gaga has even been forced to move to bigger venues for upcoming shows in Detroit, Michigan and Chicago, Illinois to accommodate all of her adoring fans.
The 23 year old has described her gigs as "ostentatious and over-the-top" in the past - and she has completely blown her budget to impress fans, according to Britain's The Sun newspaper.
A source tells the publication, "The gigs are losing money hand over fist because they've spent a fortune on pricey costumes, technical equipment and elaborate set designs.
"She spent £500,000 on one stage alone. But Lady Gaga gets what Lady Gaga wants. Her wardrobe is huge and she wants to shock - and that costs serious money."
A spokesperson for the star says, "I can't comment on figures but it wouldn't be a surprise. Gaga puts everything into her live shows and she doesn't care about the financial side of things. I wouldn't want to be her accountant."
