On Sept. 11, kids from the Hoboken Jubilee Center will take the PATH train to Wall Street, where they will hang out with singer Lady Gaga as part of BGC Partners' Charity Day.
All of BGC's revenue for the day goes to charities, like the Jubilee Center, a nonprofit after-school program for Hoboken Housing Authority kids. Last year, BGC raised $8 million on Charity Day, $2 million of which was raised by its New York City office.
In addition to Lady Gaga, MSNBC hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski and New York Giants defensive end Justin Tuck are scheduled to help out.
"Last year we got $25,000 from Charity Day," said Donna Garban, a Jubilee Center board member. The money was used for trips and other programs.
"The Jubilee Center was one of the few New Jersey charities they picked to be included in this so we're really lucky," Garban added.
