Christina Aguilera is proud to be a diva.
The 'Dirrty' singer - who is said to be four months pregnant with her first child - claims the music industry is still prejudiced against women and she is tired of assertive successful females being branded divas.
Christina told In Style magazine: "There's a lot of c**p when you're up against men in this industry.
"If a man's assertive, he's head of the ship. If a woman shows the same aggression, she's a diva. I'm sorry, if I'm working hard on the road and have a few requests, I'm not going to hold back.
"I said to myself very early on, I'm never going to feel weak, nor rely on a man for anything. I'm going to make my own way and I'm going to succeed.
"You have to make sure music is your passion, because it's a business. Unless you're strong, it will eat you alive."
The 26-year-old singer - who is married to Jordan Bratman - also claims society is still uncomfortable around "sexual" women.
She said: "Society is much more accepting of men being sexual. It's been a complete double standard since the beginning of time.
"I think the more women that tell the world that people's judgements can't affect them, the better. I happen to love being a woman."
