Christina Aguilera has stated that the sound of her new album Bionic is a mixture of her previous records.
The 'Not Myself Tonight' singer, who recently postponed her US tour, admitted that her son was the reason she decided to revisit her previous work for her latest LP.
She told the Scotsman: "Bionic is something I'm so proud of. It's an accumulation of all my old records. It revisits my early pop days because it goes into a full-throttle, fun pop record where I can get in touch with that again.
"My son really allowed me that. Because when I had him, he brought out my more playful side again. Stripped went to a little bit of a darker place for me because I had so many stories to tell. A lot of it was very pain-driven."
Augilera releases Bionic on June 8.
