Sir Elton John has hinted he may record a duet with Lady Gaga for her new album.
The legendary singer is good friends with the outrageous pop star and the pair performed live together at the Grammy Awards in January. Elton has revealed he is a huge fan of Gaga and is impressed with how she continues to push the boundaries of the music industry with her sound and fashion sense.
The 63-year-old British star is eager to get into the recording studio with Gaga to lay down vocals for one of the tracks on her eagerly-anticipated second album Born This Way, but he fears their busy schedules may delay any plans for a duet in the near future.
"I love her, and I love her ability to write. I love the songs she writes. I'd love to in the future," Elton told EW when asked if he would like to record a song with Gaga. "I'd love to do that. There's a chance I might do one track with her for Born This Way, but it's just, she's so busy, and I'm so busy, we can never get together!"
Born This Way is due to be released early next year and Elton has already heard some of the 24-year-old star's new material. He has claimed one of the tracks is so powerful it could become the signature tune for a host of people all over the world.
"I've already heard it, so I think it's more or less done. Her record - it's f**king amazing. Born This Way, which is the title song, will completely get rid of Gloria Gaynor's I Will Survive. This is the new I Will Survive. That was the gay anthem. This is the new gay anthem. Actually, it's not a gay anthem - it can apply to anybody."
