Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball Tour Crushes Debut Headlining Artist RecordsLady Gaga‘s year and a half long Monster Ball tour will come to an end in Mexico City tonight (May 6) as the biggest tour ever by a debut headlining artist. Billboard has released the numbers, and Gaga’s ambitious outing has played 200 shows, grossed $227.4 million, and brought 2.5 million little monsters across the globe out to see it. Gaga’s manager, Troy Carter, credits “reasonably priced tickets” and “a great live experience” for making the tour such a huge success. Even better news for Mother Monster, Billboard predicts that if other tours stay below the bar this year, the Monster Ball could become one of the top 10 highest-grossing tours of all time. For fans who haven’t checked out the tour, a recent Monster Ball show at New York’s Madison Square Garden will air this Saturday, May 7 on HBO. neonlimelight.com
